Privacy policy

Statement Budget is a Google Sheets budget and a statement reader, made by Victor Alckmin Hotz Fonseca, trading as Hotz.Std, in São Paulo, Brazil (address in our terms). We are responsible for the information described here. This page explains what happens to it.
Your bank statements
- You never connect your bank account or share a password. You choose a file and upload it to the reader.
- In PDF, CSV and OFX files, account and card numbers of 8 digits or more are replaced by their last four digits in your browser before the text is sent. Other details, such as your name, your address and short codes like a UK sort code, are sent as they appear. Screenshots and scanned PDFs are sent as images, as they are.
- The text or images are sent once to Anthropic, our AI provider, to sort the transactions. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, Anthropic does not train its models on this content and deletes it within 30 days. Content flagged by Anthropic's safety systems can be kept longer for that review.
- We do not store your statements, and we do not log their contents. Our server only records technical details, such as how long a reading took and its size.
- Categories you pick for a merchant are saved only in your own browser, so the reader can remember them next time. You can clear them by clearing your browser's site data.
Your budget
Your budget is a Google Sheet in your own Google account. We can't see it unless you share it with us.
When you buy
Payments are processed by Hotmart. Hotmart receives your name, email and payment details to complete the purchase and give you access. We receive your name, email and order details from Hotmart so we can deliver the product, handle refunds and answer support requests. We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies or advertising trackers. If we add advertising measurement, such as the Meta pixel, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Why we use your information
We use your statement only to give you the sorted result you asked for, and your order details only to deliver what you bought and support you. If you are in the UK or the EU, our legal basis is the performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
Who handles your information
- Anthropic, in the United States: sorts the transactions in your statement.
- Cloudflare, in the United States: hosts this website and the reader.
- Hotmart, in Brazil: processes payments and refunds.
This means your information can be processed outside your country, in the United States and Brazil.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to us at the address below and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority: the ICO in the UK, the OAIC in Australia, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in Canada, or your local authority in the EU.
